"Our world is a global community.” “It is a massive, intertwined neighborhood!” These two statements have never been more strikingly true than they are today. There exist dangerous, ominous global problems that bind ALL peoples of the world together. Among these problems are wars, terrorism, poverty, corruption, climatic changes, and racism. The effective resolution of these problems is desperately urgent and mandatory or we literally risk the very end of the human race.

I believe that, as has been said many times, "our children are our future," and if these world problems will be solved, it will be through our children. I believe that the overall purpose of education should encompass the preparation and equipping of children/each generation to be able to contribute toward the resolution of the problems of the world they inhabit. It is my belief that every child should be rendered, through education, an effective, critical-thinking, participatory citizen anywhere in the global community.
